Sleepy Saturday Morning

Pin It Now! we were supposed to go up north this weekend but because i had a busy week at work and am heading out west on my last business trip before mat leave early Mon am we decided to stay home and i am relishing in this low key saturday morning (i'll take 'em when i can).

rignt now am blogging in bed, watching he's just not that into you and laughing at lines like "so i also have a magical name - it's brother phoenix east horse"

here is recent page i made of the benster. speaking of ben - he too is enjoying his lazy saturday. he decided to take over my snoggle pillow (aka best preggo invention of all time - thanks meags!) and he's curled up in it in bed ha! makes me laugh.

we get baby's furniture delivered today - so excited!

Pin It Now! i picked ben up from the dog sitter today and he didn't want to come home with me.

he just loves her so much and so do i, she's just the best but i think it's a bit like how mom's feel when their kids don't want to leave their sitters, like i'm happy that he's happy there but still felt really guilty/sad that he didn't want to leave....so i came home and bought him this hat on etsy.

i'm not sure that he will love it as much as i do.

on another note this week is a frenzy of christmas prep - have all but one gift and have wrapped almost all.

made my own gift tags this year with kraft paper and stamps and ribbon - was worth it but timely, forgot my camera at my mom's this weekend so photos to come.

have to work up till christmas eve and then it's off till the 4th - we are hosting christmas morning and boxing day so the preparation is already underway.

have you seen this site? it's super cool. takes all the words from text that you input or a site that you give it and makes a word cloud with the words you use with the highest frequency being the largest. this is mine from my blog - i'm going to save it and then do another one in a few weeks. i can't find my two faves on here so: kirk, ben, kirk, ben, kirk, ben, kirk, ben. :)

on the fence about a cast iron boston terrier door stop at the antique market. sounds like a no brainer right? me + bostons + antiques....that kicker is it's $149 so a tough pill to swallow. i'm going to keep my eye on it and see if the price goes down...tough to justify when we spent almost quadruple that on the real deal this past month at the vet.

Shortly after this my camera battery died which is a bummer because I missed my fav. part of party photo ops (the dancing part obviously) so I decided to bite the bullet and got this camera this week: 

I love it because it's tiny and blue.  Isn't it so cute?  Thought about an SLR but really not conducive to my lifestyle yet.  Maybe when we have kids and we already have a zillion pounds of cargo to haul around with us wherever we go but right now if it doesn't fit in my clutch I'm not gonna use it. 

Have been taking full advantage of this loveliness outside by getting into the summer spirit.  

Yesterday  made Barefoot Contessa Gazpacho....have never had a desire to try this before (i think because the name reminds me of a sneeze) but tried it for some random reason a few weeks ago at a restaurant and it is seriously delish....think salsa-esque with a bit of crunch thanks to cucumber and peppers.  Also put a dollop of Tzakiki on top which gave it a bit of creaminess.  My mom went on and on about how the raw food movement is the new rage but honestly it tastes great and is super easy.

Pin It Now! One of my favorite things about having a blog its’ a great way to embellish a story, by making the statement “I may blog about that”….here are a few of the blog worthy things that have happened to me in the last few weeks

YYZ offered me her NKOTB sparkly sweatshirt (which is from the band itself) so this is basically like they gave me a present – and thus the Secret is true. I definitely dreamed that one up as an 8 year old. Only took 20 years but better late than never!

Twitter – this I don’t really get…I have signed up and am following a few celebs plus one friend, but I really don’t understand the point of it.

Scrapping – very into scrapping right now, my friend J has given me some great sites to get inspired by:

I was so overwhelmed at first but the more I look at the layouts the more I realize that a lot of people just use a lot of “stuff” on their pages – I think some of the layouts are awesome and the artists really are artists but don’t feel as discouraged as I did before after learning a few new techniques. I also think that I could definitely spend my entire paycheck every week on scrappng stuff. Would also be beneficial if I could swap my work schedule for my scrap schedule. I would get many more pages done this way.

Blogger Haters – there have been a few people who shall remain nameless that have teased me about my blog…you know who you are…and you know that you are reading it right now so I guess you shouldn’t really talk ;)

Other Bloggers – Ok – so not to perpetuate the blogger hater mentality and you all know I love my BT as much as the next girl…but this Blog goes into a little *too* much detail…not sure that I need to see a picture of your dog wearing a thong or an image of the tapeworm you pulled out of it’s a$*…and I’m pretty sure your dog hates you for this. Other than this this site is hilarious.
