"I may blog about that"

Pin It Now! One of my favorite things about having a blog its’ a great way to embellish a story, by making the statement “I may blog about that”….here are a few of the blog worthy things that have happened to me in the last few weeks

YYZ offered me her NKOTB sparkly sweatshirt (which is from the band itself) so this is basically like they gave me a present – and thus the Secret is true. I definitely dreamed that one up as an 8 year old. Only took 20 years but better late than never!

Twitter – this I don’t really get…I have signed up and am following a few celebs plus one friend, but I really don’t understand the point of it.

Scrapping – very into scrapping right now, my friend J has given me some great sites to get inspired by:
Basic Grey
Bad Girls Club
I was so overwhelmed at first but the more I look at the layouts the more I realize that a lot of people just use a lot of “stuff” on their pages – I think some of the layouts are awesome and the artists really are artists but don’t feel as discouraged as I did before after learning a few new techniques. I also think that I could definitely spend my entire paycheck every week on scrappng stuff. Would also be beneficial if I could swap my work schedule for my scrap schedule. I would get many more pages done this way.

Blogger Haters – there have been a few people who shall remain nameless that have teased me about my blog…you know who you are…and you know that you are reading it right now so I guess you shouldn’t really talk ;)

Other Bloggers – Ok – so not to perpetuate the blogger hater mentality and you all know I love my BT as much as the next girl…but this Blog goes into a little *too* much detail…not sure that I need to see a picture of your dog wearing a thong or an image of the tapeworm you pulled out of it’s a$*…and I’m pretty sure your dog hates you for this. Other than this this site is hilarious.

Groundhog day

Pin It Now! Damn ugly groundhog saw his shadow - you know what that means people.....6 more weeks of salt on the uggs, frozen steering wheel in the morning, and icy sidewalks - all in all general ickiness. Seriously though there was never really a chance...how could something that hideous bear good news?

I have been out-blogged by some spoiled Manhattanites over at http://dabagirls.wordpress.com/ - who decided that a bunch of stuck up bankers girlfriends was NYTimes worthy? I guess I have some work to do to get props from the mainstream blogosphere. Loyal followers - thank you for your support...when I make it big I'll remember you.

We had Sophie's Jack and Jill this weekend - was a fun time with some gold friends. I love how spending time with friends from the past makes me revert to feeling that age again - I hope it's always like that.

Deep Freeze

Pin It Now! Ugh Toronto is in a major deep freeze. Looks beautiful outside but is so cold! Went bridal gown shopping with N yesterday - what a fun time. I really forgot how wedding crazed I can be - it's like I wish I could do it all over again we went to this great salon White in Yorkville - . Getting v. excited for Sophie's wedding - still a lot of fun events to take place before the "big" day but it's really getting close.

Red cups at Starbucks

Pin It Now! It's hard to beleive -(and a bit sad) but Christmas is almost here! 97.3 has finally started playing Christmas songs (it's about time). K and I had a debate on the way to work today about the song Do they know it's Christmas...he thought it went "heal the woooorld" and I thought it was "feed the woooorld" (I was right). Isn't it funny how you can go your whole life and think that a song goes a certain way and then find out that it doesn't? When I was a kid I thought the Fresh Prince Theme song went like this "In West Ville Ennelvia born and raised..." (it's West Philladelphia), and then there is another part that I thought went "I was shootin some B Ball I thought I was cool" (which is actually "outside of the school"). Ha - funny.

A lot has happened since my last blog. Two trips to NYC (one which I mentioned below but didn't elaborate on), both for work but one with K which was great. The first trip I got to see my blog momma yyz and nycfoodie.com in one night - my blogger community all in one spot. Also, the most dissapointing thing happened to us. YYZ and I had seen this "really cool guy" at one of our GenArt Fashion Shows - he was sitting in the front row and was very stylish and handsome (tall, black, wore a dress shirt, tie, sweater and black glasses) - we both noticed him and how cool he looked. Well...you can imagine our suprise when we saw him at our Luxe club event - but he turned out to be a major phony! Stylish guy ended up being sleezy guy and ended up dirty dancing with a trashy girl all night. Ick.

This past weekend had an awesome time at Jingle Ball in NY - it was a lot of work getting to that point so it was great to see it all execute on site - I love all my peeps at Clear Channel, T-Mo and BB in NYC! The coolest thing that happened is that we were witness to some Gossip Gangsta comin atcha aka Not from concentrate aka Perez - we listed every day on the way to work and Mon heard about a "fight that errupted on Fri night at a concert in NYC between security and Katy Perry's BF Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis"...well we saw the fight! Didn't know what it was all about at the time but exciting none the less. The gift lounge was fun but concert was amazing - we were super close and it was a great show.

This weekend should be fun - having some friends over Sat night - looking forward to seeing them all esp. *n aka Little Squirell.

I think I figured out how to hyperlink in this blog so enjoy!

Congrats N and P!

Pin It Now! So happy for N and P and their engagement - congrats you two!  Have had a super busy few days, went to NYC for a site inspection and event and metup with my feller blogger pal yyz!  Was a great trip but a definite whirlwind - also met her blogger friend nycfoodie.com.  Yesterday afternoon got most of my Xmas shopping out of the way at the One of a Kind show - so excited and then last night had SNL over for some spicy thai and Scattergories - a great night.  Have to download my pics from the city but saw some great Christmas lights - Manhattan in December is amazing - it's as bright and beautiful as always but with giant Christmas lights and displays on every corner - reinforcing once again why it's probably my fav. city on earth!

Christmas Cookies!

Pin It Now! Sophie and I were emailing back and forth today and she reminded me about Christmas Cookies! Christmas cookies are definitley one of the best parts of Christmas. Last year I did sugar cookies with royal icing (bright colours, which were always my fav. as a kid) and Toblerone Shortbreads recipe courtesy of Aunty Extravaganza. They were both a big hit! Hmmm...I wonder when I'm going to have time to fit in my Christmas baking this year...maybe this Saturday during the day, our neighbours aren't coming over anymore so that clears up some time. Next weekend we are going to NYC together for Jingle Ball and then staying on Sat which should be a blast! Have a dinner reso at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant on Sat night and going to Balthazar on Sat for brunch - I don't know how they do it there but they are the fluffiest eggs on earth. They have this one dish that's like a puff pastry egg dish with mushrooms and it's terrific.

This is such a fun filled time of the year and I really am thankful for all of my friends and family more than ever. Being new at blogging I found it hard to name my blog and ended up honouring my little Boston Terrier, Ben but really there are so many things I love that it was hard to choose!

I'm slowly starting to reveal my "secret" blog to friends so we'll see who becomes a regular follower of my blog.

Day 2

Pin It Now! Day 2 of blogging and def. still getting the hang of things. I've been asking around and nobody here really seems to know what the deal is with blogging - with the exception of KS saying that I may become famous, which really sounds like kind of a fun prospect so for now I will blog on.

Hosted a bridal shower for one of my golden girls who I'll call Sophie - we all had a blast, the theme was Sex and The City and it was a hit! I think themed parties really need to make a comeback, a few simple touches can really come together to create a great night. For my party, the key was keeping things well thought out and organized before hand so that when the big night came to be I could relax with the ladies and enjoy some pink champagne.

Not sure why I continue to drink pink champagne becuase it's really not good for my head the next day but at the time it's always such a good idea, the bubbles and the pinkness are so party friendly.

Really missed my pal N who has been over in the wild wild Middle East for a few months now, she is always such a great addition to a party, v. helpful and fun - a great combo!
